Voith automatic transmissions can be installed without problem in all Volvo driveline busses. Only one transmission series covers Volvo's entire engine range. Transmission and electronic controller are optimally adapted to the environmentally compatible, low-emission Volvo engines. The transmission is adapted to the traffic situation at hand by selection of the most suitable axle. This selection in turn is based, for instance, on the operating data saved in the electronic controller of the DIWA transmission. This data also allows to select the optimum engine output.
The four shifting programmes in the electronic control unit, reaching from "economy" to "power oriented", allow further adaptation to the needs of the transport operator.
