The Technical Concept of the DIWA Transmission
The moving-off range of the Differential-Wandler (Converter) transmission (DIWA) replaces the first two gears of the conventional automatic transmission:

  • The 4-speed DIWA transmission is essentially comparable to a conventional 5- or 6-speed transmission made by a competitor
  • More economy in the lower speed range by partly mechanical power transmission (differential converter principle)
  • Lower thermal load on the engine cooling circuit as a result of the power-split principle
