The steady torque increase of combustion engines, especially in the low speed ranges, as well as modified combustion processes and mass reductions in connection with the new Euro engines aggravate the vibration problems in the power train. Increasingly, wear and stability problems occur in addition to vibrations and unnerving noise. Measures on the output end also contribute substantially to this development,
e. g. the trend toward a higher number of speeds, use of low viscosity transmission oils, and high peak torques from power shift gearboxes.
